Phase 3: Staying Pain-Free
It can be easy, in fact too easy sometimes; after what can sometimes be many years of pain and frustration to become so focused on the goal of becoming pain free that a larger and just as important issue is overlooked.
The vast majority coming to seek help do it to relieve pain- but that is only the one part of what is necessary to get and stay healthy.
Care for Your Health
Once you have gotten back to a state where your body no longer exhibits the symptoms of pain that brought you to the Chiropractor in the first place - it can be all too simple to slide back onto habits that don't support your health. Much like when you learned to tie your shoes, your wellness needs to be a habit you learn and use. No doctor of any sort anywhere, not the best doctors, not here in new jersey or anywhere else can do that for you. And yet- you should know how important it is.
The alternative is looking forward to the distinct possibility of a lifetime of getting out of a situation where you are in pain and needing to go back over and over again to get patched up- simply getting treated over and over again for the simple short sighted goal of relieving pain. In the long run this becomes much more costly in terms of time and health (and oftentimes money as well) than paying attention to little things on a consistent basis and doing simple maintenance adjustments.
Remember that your Chiropractor, just like your physician, prescribes enough rest, good exercise, good eating habits and regular checkups to feel good most of the time. This will do wonders for your ability to stay healthy and balanced- and avoid a great many possible diseases and ailments.
This Pain-Free or "Wellness Care" phase will give you the benefit of consistently feeling great for the rest of your life!
